An IrAero flight IO4284 from Sabetta to Moscow landed on a runway under construction at Moscow Domodedovo Airport. Sukhoi Superjet 100-95LR landed on the unfinished runway of the second busiest airport serving Russia’s capital on Jan 16th 2020.
“At 2:17PM local time, a IrAero Airlines flight from Sabetta to Moscow (DME) landed on a runway under construction near Moscow Domodedovo Airport. The aircraft landed safely; there were no injuries,” the Public Relations Department of Moscow’s Domodedovo Airport said.
The construction of the third runaway the Domodedovo Airport began in 2014 and should have been completed in 2 years, but has not been finished yet.
According to News Agency TASS, The Russian federal air regulator Rosaviatsiya will establish a commission to investigate the aircraft landing on the non-operating runway.
